C Culture Collective Studio is proud to present Driving Miss Daisy, performed by The Gate Theatre Group of Chiang Mai. For over eight years, The Gate Theatre has provided English Language theatre to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai audiences. The group will be here in Bangkok for three performances.

D riving Miss Daisy is a “dramedy” that follows the relationship of an elderly white Jewish woman and her African-American chauffer from 1948 to 1973. Set in Atlanta, Georgia, the story addresses several racial issues of the Deep South in the United States.

A lfred Uhry’s Driving Miss Daisy was first produced in 1987and has been performed thousands of times since. Having won both Pulitzer and Tony awards, the play was later made into a movie, starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy, winning four Academy Awards in 1989.

P erformed by Joyce Matchett, Stephan Turner and Pokrajen-Harmon, this production promises to be special. Three performances only!.
